Denise Anthony BA (Hons) Educational Consultant and Special Educational Needs Advisor.

Denise provides expert assessments, reports, and recommendations to meet individual needs at the Roundway Centre. She has dedicated her work to enabling pupils and students to grow in confidence as learners and to realise their potential. She is committed to providing pragmatic guidance to individuals, parents, schools, and organisations to see individuals fulfil what they are capable of and to be part of removing the barriers to learning and facilitating amazing outcomes. Denise is proud of her collaborative work with parents, schools and other professionals. Denise is certified in ADOS 2 (Autistic Diagnostic Observation Schedule,) BOSA and PACT (Paediatric Autism Communication Therapy).

Denise has worked in various senior roles in primary, secondary and higher education for over 30 years. She has experience in undertaking assessment and intervention innovation with autism and other conditions that affect social development. Her breadth of experience has always been focused on the area of Special Educational Needs. She is passionate about inclusive education and ensuring that young people have access to what they need to enable them to flourish. Denise takes a pragmatic, developmental approach to provision, ensuring that young people feel equipped with a “tool bag” of support tailored to their needs.

Denise started her educational career in the University sector, working for many years at both Salford and Manchester Universities. She worked in Equality and Diversity and Academic Quality and standards during those years. Denise combined senior lead of the Equality and Diversity section at Salford University with consultancy at Manchester University, providing assessments for undergraduate and postgraduate students. These assessments identified best-fit support to enable students to reach their potential and access provisions under the Disabled Students Allowance.

Denise’s work with these establishments currently includes;

  • staff training,
  • awareness-raising,
  • support for the ADPR and EHCP application process,
  • guidance in developing an SEN framework of best practice to meet OFSTED expectations,
  • and supporting senior leadership in developing policy reviews and monitoring progress to ensure continual improvement.
